(Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)

100 Contact Hours, 10 PLUs, Certification Add-on

An individual with the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports Endorsement has strengthened and enhanced competency to model PBIS in the field and at the grade level of their base certification.  This program endeavors to abide by and provide expertise in accordance with PSC rule 505-2-.189 POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS (PBIS) ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM 

Candidate admission to the MGRESA Endorsement Program requires the following:

  • A valid, level 4 or higher Induction or Professional teaching certificate in any teaching, service, or leadership field is required for program admission. 
  • Candidates must register online under Online Registration for each course of the PBIS Endorsement and follow the link to print the application for system approval.

Course Registration

This is a job-embedded program. Candidates must practice skills with students.     

PBIS1: Foundations and Critical Features of School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (5 PLUs)

Course 1 focuses on the foundations of school-wide positive behavior intervention and supports.  Candidates will gain an understanding of the critical features of school wide PBIS and how they are implemented and assessed using a variety of tools and measures.

PBIS2: Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports in the Classroom (3PLUs)

Course 2 focuses on the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports at the classroom level.  Candidates will gain an understanding of the critical features of classwide PBIS and how they are implemented and assessed using a variety of tools and measures.

PBIS3:  Multi-Tiered Systems and Supports (2PLUs)

Course 3 focuses on the implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports at the schoolwide and classroom levels.   Candidates will gain an understanding of the critical features of a multi-tiered system of support, evidenced-based practices and assessment and progress monitoring.
